Open House events are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 3-7pm. No appointment is needed to attend the open house. Please join us!

Central Park Drive Closure

Due to Roadside Vegetation Management work, Central Park Drive will be closed from the Merry Go Round to Lone Oak Road on October 16, 2024 and October 30, 2024. Updated October 22, 2024.

About the Facility

The Brazilian Room derives its name from its rich hardwood paneling (Jacaranda, Imbuya, Brazilian Chestnut and Mahogany) that was once part of the Brazilian Pavilion at the 1939 Golden Gate International Exhibition on Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay that showcased the commerce and culture of the country of Brazil. When the exposition ended, the Brazil Building was presented to the newly-formed East Bay Regional Park District as a gift of friendship from the Brazilian government.

Open Houses and Scheduling Tours

  • To view the Brazilian Room, please join us at our open houses, the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Until further notice, we are unable to hold tours outside of these events. 
  • To schedule a tour of the Beach House or Fern Cottage, please contact the Rental Facilities office at (510) 544-3164. 
  • We are not currently offering tours for the Shoreline Center due to closure, please check back.
