The Park District conserves and enhances important cultural resources such as historical sites, and natural resources which include vegetation and water to ensure healthy ecosystems for a diverse assortment of birds, mammals, reptiles, fish, and invertebrates that dwell in the regional parks, lakes, and shorelines.
