Technical large animal rescue is an infrequent, inherently dangerous type of heavy rescue. East Bay Regional Parks Firefighters are trained in moving and extracting disabled animals from trails, ditches, creeks, or overturned trailers by rope and mechanical rescue.  Fire Department Personnel are trained in animal behavior in emergency situations and are equipped with all the necessary tools to keep the responders, victim, and victim’s animal as safe as possible.
