We are humble in our service to the entire East Bay Community we serve. The East Bay Regional Park District’s Vision is to ensure the safety and health of park users.
The Park District’s interpretive and recreation programs and activities have traditionally been taught live at our visitor centers or out in the parks.
In the Bay Area we are blessed with over a million acres of beautiful public parkland. Californians love to get outdoors to enjoy nature and exercise, in fact they depend on it. For residents and their families it is an essential and fundamental part of their daily lives. Parks make lives better.

Make your way to the front entrance of the Patterson House.
Follow the path to your left, through the shade of an old tree-filled stream bank. Take a right to the stone milk house on your right.
Just ahead and to the right is the small white cook’s house.
Look for the small white outhouse under the big redwood tree across the paved path from the Cook’s house.
Your next stop is the asphalted area to your right, near the tall palm tree.
