The East Bay Regional Park District invites the public to join in the Annual Day of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s vision, on January18, 2016 at Martin Luther King Jr Regional Shoreline in Oakland. Volunteers will assist staff in restoration work and invasive plant removal in order to support and care for wildlife and their natural habitats. Volunteers will also participate in the restoration of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Grove.
Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes and closed-toed shoes. To cut down on the use of plastic, please bring a refillable water bottle and bucket to pick up litter. For more information call (510) 544-2590. Heavy rain cancels the event.

The East Bay Regional Park District is a system of beautiful public parks and trails in Alameda and Contra Costa counties east of San Francisco Bay, established in 1934. The system comprises 114,000+ acres in 65 parks including over 1,200 miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding and nature study.

Join us for the 40th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day, California’s largest annual volunteer event, on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers can help remove trash and plastic pollution at beaches and waterways throughout the Park District and earn a Coastal Cleanup patch or sticker.

Help us beautify and preserve our fabulous shoreline during the 35th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 21, 2019. The Park District has selected ten sites for cleanup, including bayside beaches, shoreline trails, and inland lakes. Park District staff and volunteers will pick up litter and recyclables. Image
This year Columbia Sportswear is providing discount vouchers to all volunteers at their employee store in Richmond. Participants can purchase current season merchandise from Columbia Sportswear, Mountain Hardwear, Sorel, and prAna at 40-50% off regular retail prices. Items include clothing, footwear, accessories, sleeping bags, backpacks, tents and many more.
Participants are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle, bucket for trash, hat, gloves, and sunscreen. Participants should also wear closed-toe shoes and layered clothing. Snacks, water, and trash bags are provided.
