Volunteers Needed to Clean Up Park District Beaches and Shorelines on 35th Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day

Help us beautify and preserve our fabulous shoreline during the 35th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 21, 2019. The Park District has selected ten sites for cleanup, including bayside beaches, shoreline trails, and inland lakes. Park District staff and volunteers will pick up litter and recyclables.

This year Columbia Sportswear is providing discount vouchers to all volunteers at their employee store in Richmond. Participants can purchase current season merchandise from Columbia Sportswear, Mountain Hardwear, Sorel, and prAna at 40-50% off regular retail prices. Items include clothing, footwear, accessories, sleeping bags, backpacks, tents and many more.

Participants are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle, bucket for trash, hat, gloves, and sunscreen. Participants should also wear closed-toe shoes and layered clothing. Snacks, water, and trash bags are provided.

The East Bay Regional Park District is the largest regional park system in the nation, comprising 73 parks, 55 miles of shoreline, and 1,250 miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and nature learning.
