When can I make a Equestrian (Horse) Camping reservation?

FIRST WEDNESDAY IN SEPTEMBER: Reservation Written Request form available

LAST WEDNESDAY IN OCTOBER: Deadline for Residents of Alameda and Contra Costa County.

FIRST MONDAY IN NOVEMBER: Phones Open - Residents and organizations based in Alameda and Contra Costa counties may begin making reservations for the following calendar year. Requests will be considered in the following order: EBRPD events, reservations part of a special event permit, written requests, and phone requests.

FIRST WEDNESDAY IN DECEMBER: Written Request Deadline for people who reside outside of Alameda and Contra Costa County.

SECOND MONDAY IN JANUARY: Phones Open - Residents outside Alameda and Contra Costa counties may begin making site reservations for the calendar year.

LAST DAY TO RESERVE: Backpacking and group camping reservations must be made at least FIVE business days prior to your arrival date IN ORDER TO HAVE PARKING PASSES OR OHLONE WILDERNESS PERMITS MAILED TO YOU.

How do I reserve an equestrian campsite?

Reservations telephone hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm. Please call 1-888-EBPARKS (1-888-327-2757), press option 2, For persons with hearing impairments, please use the Telecommunications Relay Service at 711. The Reservations Office is open for walk-in reservations or questions Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm.

***SECURITY/DAMAGE DEPOSIT equal to one night fee is charged per site. 
***SERVICE FEE:  $8.00 non-refundable fee is charged per site reserved.  

How do I CHANGE or CANCEL my reservation?

NO REFUNDS will be given for rain during your stay.

How do I CANCEL my reservation?

CANCELLATION: You must CALL the Reservations office to cancel your reservation. (1-888-327-2757)

  • Cancellations received more than 30 days in advance will receive a 90% refund of the site use fee.
  • Cancellations made 15 to 30 days in advance will receive a 75% refund of the site use fee.
  • Cancellations made 7 to 14 days in advance will receive a 50% refund of the site use fee.
  • Cancellations made less than 7 days in advance will receive NO REFUND.
  • The $8 service charge and any extra fees are non-refundable.
  • No refunds will be given for rain during your stay.

How do I make CHANGES to my reservation?

CHANGES: You must CALL the Reservations office to make any changes (dropping days or changing dates) to your reservation. (1-888-327-2757)

  • Requests for changes received more than 30 days in advance will be charged a 10% penalty.
  • Requests for changes received 15 to 30 days in advance will be charged a 25% penalty.
  • Requests for changes received 7 to 14 days will receive a 50% penalty.
  • Requests for changes received less than 7 days will receive NO REFUND.

    No refunds will be given for rain during your stay.

Are horses included with my reservation?

No. All horses must be brought into and out of the park by their owner(s).

What are the check-in and check-out times?

All camping reservations begin at 2pm and end at noon the following day.

Am I allowed to make a reservation without having a horse?

No, at least one horse is required for each reserved equestrian (horse) site.

What are the quiet hours?

Quiet hours are 10pm to 7am. CAMPGROUND DISTURBANCES: PLEASE CALL 911 ON THE PARK PAYPHONE OR (510) 881-1121 TO NOTIFY PARK POLICE OF AFTER-HOURS PROBLEMS that need police attention. Other campers will be glad you brought the problem to the attention of the Regional Parks Police.
