Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

Thank you for your support this year! We look forward to your participation in 2022!

Monday, January 18 Through Thursday, February 18, 2021

Help celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during a month-long community service event. Due to rise in regional COVID-19 cases, we are unable to host traditional cleanups with groups of volunteers at the Regional Parks. However, you can honor the spirit of the MLK Jr. Day of Service by conducting your own neighborhood cleanup. By picking up litter which would, otherwise, travel through storm drains and creeks to pollute beaches and ocean, you are providing an invaluable service to the environment and to your communities.

Here is what you need to do to have a successful Cleanup Event:

  1. Register for the event. Here’s how: » Event registration

    • Sun protection

  4. Go out and pick-up trash! Remember, you are our most important resource: Safety first!
  5. Throw any debris collected into your home trash bin
  6. Dispose of your gloves and thoroughly wash your hands
