Public Invited to Community Showcase of Newly Renovated Roberts Pool in Oakland

Join us for an exciting preview of Roberts Pool, one of the East Bay Regional Park District’s most popular swim facilities, at Roberts Regional Recreation Area in Oakland. As part of the community preview, visitors are invited to a showcase event on Saturday, September 30, and Sunday, October 1, 2023, where they can enjoy popsicles and take a dip in the pool. Parking is free for the event. Two free 90-minute swim sessions are available on both days (see details below).
The newly completed Roberts Pool Renovation Project, which replaced the aging original pool and facilities built in the 1950s, offers swimmers and staff many new features and amenities. The pool capacity has approximately doubled from the original size and there are additional shallow areas for recreation, swim lessons, and training. Visitors will enjoy a new public changing room building with restrooms, which include gender-neutral facilities and ADA access. The pool and pool deck feature new retaining walls, planting, irrigation, a new entry kiosk, fences/gates, and ADA parking.
The Roberts Pool Renovation Project was made possible through funding from the California Department of Parks and Recreation, Measure WW, Regional Parks Foundation, and the Park District. Roberts Pool will reopen for the swim season in 2024.
