The Tilden Park Golf Course turned 85 in 2022. This historic public golf course is located within Tilden Regional Park on Golf Course Drive. Enter the park from Golf Course Road or Shasta Road off Grizzly Peak Boulevard in Berkeley. Amenities include an 18-hole course with a driving range, practice green, cart rental, pro shop, restaurant, and bar. 

This 6,294-yard championship course was designed by William Park Bell Jr. and constructed during the Great Depression by the East Bay Regional Park District, Works Progress Administration (WPA), and Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1936-37.

In 2010, it was awarded Best Golf Course for Oakland and the East Bay by the SF Guardian’s Best of the Bay. The rolling tree-lined fairways and contoured greens make this golf course exceptional and memorable. The Tilden Park Golf Course is the 67th golf course in California and the 1,009th in the world to be designated as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.
