When complete, this trail will connect two of the Park District’s largest open space parks. The existing portion of this trail links Briones Regional Park to the Lafayette-Moraga Trail in the City of Lafayette. The segment heading south from Briones is hilly, steep, and appropriate only for hiking use (bicycles may use the trail from the Lafayette-Moraga Trail north to Mt. Diablo Blvd.). Paved portions of the trail pass 0.8 miles east of the Lafayette BART station on Deer Hill Road, bisect the commercial area of Lafayette, and connect to the Lafayette-Moraga Trail at Foye Drive and Moraga Blvd..
The trail is wheelchair accessible from Foye Drive to Mt. Diablo Blvd. in Lafayette.
Safe multiple use of this and other multiple use trails requires everyone's cooperation. Each trail user is asked to exercise common courtesy. BICYCLES YIELD to horses and hikers. HIKERS YIELD to horses. Stay to the right of the trail except when passing. NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES are permitted on the trail, wheelchairs excepted.
