Annual Closure Notice
As of October 1, 2019, Temescal is CLOSED for swimming until April 2020. Swim at your own risk is prohibited during this time.


Water Quality
There is currently a Caution Advisory for Lake Temescal. Cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) is present in the lake, but no toxins have been detected. Swimming is permitted. Dogs are not allowed in the lake.
Please keep dogs away from the water.

The District regularly monitors Lake Temescal to ensure the water quality meets acceptable levels for fishing and swimming.  Water quality samples are taken from four locations around the Lake; including the swim beach.  More...
