Beginning Monday, February 17, and until further notice, the Delta De Anza Trail will be CLOSED between Garrow Drive and Lone Tree Way during canal construction work. A contractor working for Contra Costa Water District is currently working on the repair of the canal. Please contact Oliver Symonds, at the Contra Costa Water District (925) 688-8010 with any questions.

Construction Projects
Continuing through the end of 2021, the Alameda County Water District will be working along Alameda Creek near the BART and UPRR rail bridges, to construct a fish ladder, fish screens into Shinn Pond, and renovations to an existing operations building. Trail users along the unpaved Alameda Creek Trail from Niles Gate (at Quarry Lakes) upstream to Mission Boulevard should expect some detours and delays during construction. For more information please visit ACWD’s website.

Health Advisory
Swimming is never allowed
and water contact is currently not permitted at Shinn Pond. Due to the potential presence of toxic algae in the pond and we recommended that you keep dogs away from the water.
