Two Watersheds: Lion and Arroyo Viejo Creeks

MCCREA MEMORIAL PARK: We will link parks and watersheds on this strenuous morning hike. Sections of the trail are very steep, narrow and uneven, so we’ll need grippy footwear and good balance. First, we’ll head up the York trail along Horseshoe Creek, by the old Laundry Farm, then we’ll cross through Merritt College and descend along Rifle Range Creek before doubling back to our starting point. We gain about 900 feet in elevation over the course of 4 or so miles.

Hiking poles are recommended.
