Description
Aides will work and train closely with the Instructor(s) in the Junior Lifeguard program. Aides must commit to assisting at least two weeks of Junior Lifeguards. This program develops teamwork, communication skills, and leadership. Participating in this program gives young teens the opportunity to get a foot in the door at EBRPD and offers a great stepping stone into the Junior Cadet program. This is some serious fun and serious business. Aides must submit an application to the Aquatic Assistant and be accepted into the program prior to registration. Contact ARoth@ebparks.org for an application packet. Applications due by May 9th to Aaron Roth. Late applications may be accepted based on availability.
Program Schedule
The Junior Lifeguard Aide Program is available during all 7 sessions, but only at specified locations. Participants are assigned two session by the Aquatic Assistant that oversees the program. Those interested in participating in the Aide program must attend the required training day. Training camp dates listed on application. Parents are responsible for arranging the prompt pick-up of participants during the pick-up times listed above. Alternatively, parents may select the Walk option from the waiver submitted on their child's first day of participation. Junior Lifeguard Aides may wear the Junior Lifeguard Aide uniform at EBRPD aquatic facilities only when participating in a Junior Lifeguard Aide program unit for which they are registered.
Activity meeting dates
Mondays-Fridays 9:00am to 4:00pm from 06/24/2024 through 08/09/2024, excluding 7/4. Aides will be assigned two weeks during this period after they are selected.
