Description

REINHARDT REDWOOD - Hikers learn strategies for enhancing performance and confidence on the trail. Uphill: Improve power, endurance, posture, upper body strength, spine function. Downhill: Develop skills for feeling safer and preserving joints – Save your knees! Expert poles training PLUS a lovely, Redwood practice hike on varied terrain.

This session is for HIKERS (beginner to experienced) but NOT for deconditioned individuals. If you are deconditioned or have any mobility challenges, please select another session. Our practice hike is less than 5 miles, with a nice variety of terrain.


A variety of top- quality poles are provided for your use, or you may bring and use your own. If you bring your own poles, please make sure they are in working order and do not ask the instructor to repair, touch or work with them.

CAREFULLY read the descriptions and then select the class that best suits your physical ability and inclination.

Approximately 5 days before the course, you will receive an email reminder from EB Parks which will include helpful and seasonal info from your instructor. If you do not see this email, please check your spam, or junk folder.

What to Bring
Participant Waiver/Emergency form – all pages filled out and signed before arrival
Hydration
Pen
Hand Sanitizer
Rag to wipe poles
Snack and very light lunch (note; lunch is on the later side of the day)
Towel or pad to sit on in case of wet surface
Rubber Tips (for some pavement stretches, or I can provide)
Fingerless bike gloves (optional)

What to Wear
Variable weather layered clothing
Sun Protection
Hiking shoes/boots with REAL tread (not worn out) Note: inappropriate shoes may mean you will not be able to participate in the hiking portion of the class and you will not receive a refund.

Instructor will start class on time and will not be able to repeat class content for late arrivals. Please plan to arrive well before the class start time to give yourself time to park, gear up and walk to the designated site.
