First Red Flag Warning of Season at East Bay Regional Park District

The East Bay Regional Park District is in a Red Flag Alert condition starting tonight at 6 p.m. through Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Red Flag Warning is in effect for the East Bay Hills above 1000 feet, and the Park District Fire Department will augment local fire resources with an extra engine, water tender and fire crew.

The National Weather Service has posted high wind advisories for tonight up to 50 miles per hour. The long range forecast shows little improvement.

Rangers are posting “No Smoking” signs on trails, notifying all concessionaires and will be patrolling.

Fire officials ask everyone to be extra careful with fires and smoking materials, and to call our fire dispatch center at (510) 881-1833 if they see any smoke or suspicious activities.
