Ayn Wieskamp of Livermore is the new president of the East Bay Regional Park District Board of Directors for the year 2014.
Director Wieskamp has served the East Bay Regional Park District Board since June 1999. Before joining the Board, she served on the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District Board, the Livermore City Council, the Alameda County Recycling Board and the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency. She received the 1998 California Association of Recreation and Park District's Special Award for her development of special family events and her efforts to expand open space and trails. She is a former public school teacher and currently leads recreation classes. She is married and resides in Livermore.
Ayn Wieskamp represents: Brightside, Dublin, part of Fremont, Livermore, Newark, Pleasanton, Scott's Corner, and Sunol.
Parks in her ward include: Ardenwood, Brushy Peak, Dublin Hills, Coyote Hills, Del Valle, Mission Peak, Monument Peak, Ohlone, a portion of Pleasanton Ridge, Shadow Cliffs, Sunol, and Tassajara Creek.
Ayn Wieskamp succeeds John Sutter of Oakland, who served as board president during 2013.
