Vegetation Management on Redtail Trail

Vegetation management is underway on Redtail Trail from November 28 through mid-December. Due to heavy machinery working in the area, Flaggers will be providing traffic control on the trail and on the adjacent sections of Marciel RoadPlease follow trail signage and possible short detours. The Marsh Creek Trail in Oakley will be closed between 8 am-noon on Thursday, December 1, between Laurel Road and Creekside Park Bridge while the City of Oakley conducts tree work.

South Park Drive will be closed to vehicle traffic (pedestrians and bikers allowed) from November 1, 2022, to April 1, 2023, for the annual road closure for newt migration. All reservations along the road are non-reservable during this time.

Coyote Hills Parking Lot Project

The gravel parking lot located at Paseo Padre Parkway and Patterson Ranch Road will close in mid-November 2022. View Map.
The existing lot will be replaced by a paved 100-car lot with shade, flush toilets, landscaping, EV charging, bus parking, picnic tables, and wildlife overlooks. The new parking lot is due to open in Spring 2023 and will be located further up Patterson Ranch Road and will have better pedestrian and vehicle circulation. To accommodate early park users, Coyote Hills staff will open the gates to the park at 7am, from Nov 28, 2022.

Crockett Hills grazing pond rehabilitation project

Areas of the Sky Trail and Soaring Eagle Trail may be impacted by a grazing pond rehabilitation project from Tuesday, October 18, 2022. Trails should remain open, but visitors are asked to take extra care and follow signage posted on the trails.

Ferry Point Pier Removal Project - Miller Knox

The East Bay Regional Park District owns and operates Miller/Knox Regional Shoreline, including the historic Ferry Point Pier which extends into the San Francisco Bay. The wooden pier is over 100 years old and damaged and must be removed for safety.
