The East Bay Regional Park District Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve national accreditation by verifying that it meets professional standards. The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, (CALEA) requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations and support services.
As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling 510 690-6531 on Monday, March 14, 2016 between the hours of 3:00PM and 5:00PM. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team.
Agency employees and members of the community are also invited to offer comments at a public information session on Tuesday March 15, 2016 starting at 6:00PM. The session will be conducted in the East Bay Regional Park District Nike Training Center at 17930 Lake Chabot Road Castro Valley, California, 94546.
Telephone comments as well as appearances at the public hearing are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA’s standards.
