About the Position
There are several seasonal Recreation Leader vacancies.

Terms and Conditions of Employment
Temporary work is paid by the hour and includes no other benefits. The Recreation Leader seasonal positions are for not more than six months in duration. Work hours are flexible; work schedules may be full or part-time. The Recreation Leader positions will be required to work some weekends and evening hours. A valid California driver's license and current certification in First Aid and CPR are conditions of initial and continued employment for Recreation Leader II.
Individuals selected must meet the following minimum qualifications for the position interested in:
Recreation Leader I: Under direct supervision, assists in instructing and leading outdoor recreational activities in support of day camps, special events, and other District programs. Provides input for record keeping and performs other work as required. Must be 16 years old or older and be in attendance at, or on legitimate leave from a high school, trade school, or college or university. Pay Rate: $10.05 - $10.35 per hour
Recreation Leader II: Under supervision, assists in organizing and leading outdoor recreational programs, including day camps, special events, and other activities. Performs record keeping and other work as required. Completion of 12 semester or 16 quarter units of college-level course work in recreation, social work, human development or related fields, and one season of recent experience planning and conducting outdoor recreation activities. Substitution: Additional college level course work that is related to the duties and responsibilities may be substituted for the required experience on the following basis: 18 semester or 24 quarter units of college or university level course work, in recreation, social work, human development or related fields, fully meets the minimum qualifications requirements. Additional experience planning and leading outdoor recreational activities may be substituted for the education requirement. Completion of two full seasons of recent experience independently planning and conducting outdoor recreation activities fully meets the education and experience requirements. Pay Rate: $12.08 - $13.45 per hour
