Cull Canyon Swim Lagoon Reopens July 4
Don Castro to Close for Renovations

Don Castro Regional Recreation Area The East Bay Regional Park District has been renovating the pumps at two of our oldest swim facilities, Cull Canyon located in Castro Valley and Don Castro in Hayward. The project is nearly completed at Cull Canyon and that swim facility is scheduled to open on July 4 and remain open daily for the rest of the summer. Don Castro will also be open on July 4 but will close on July 5 for renovation and will be closed for the remainder of the year.

Both facilities were built in the 1960s and have been popular swimming destinations for several decades. They are especially popular with families can enjoy a sandy swim area, including a roped-off shallow portion for small children, chlorinated water, and lifeguard service throughout the summer.

Swim hours at both facilities will continue to be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily when open.

Additional swim areas in the East Bay parks include Quarry Lakes in Fremont, Lake Anza at Tilden in the Berkeley Hills, Lake Temescal in Oakland, Roberts Pool in Oakland, Shadow Cliffs in Pleasanton, Lake Del Valle in Livermore and Contra Loma in Antioch. Back to top
