To prevent the destructive Quagga and Zebra mussels from potentially shutting down the water delivery system, EBRPD is asking all boaters to prevent the spread of mussels into East Bay reservoirs and lakes.
If you are launching your own boat at Lake Chabot, Del Valle, Quarry Lakes or Contra Loma, be prepared for a mandatory boat inspection. Boats will not be banded at Shadow Cliffs.
An Annual Invasive Inspection Permit is now available for $40.
Wet boats, motors or gear will be denied launching.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
State fishing licenses are now available for purchase at the marina. When purchasing your license, please bring in your current fishing license or driver's license. Trout fishing is starting to pick up again, both trolling and fishing from shore. Several good-sized trout were caught both on the shoreline and trolling.. Water level is about 10 feet from spillway and it’s been dropping daily. The rain this past week did muddy up the water quite a bit. When you bring in your big fish we’ll take your picture and give you a “Lake Chabot Whopper Club” hat. Water temperature is consistently dropping and is currently in the upper 40’s. If you have any questions please call or visit the marina.
TROUT
This week the weather is clearing back up after the rains so the water clarity should do the same and the action will pick up. With the muddy water, use lures and bait that will show up good like bright green and gold lures. For all the trollers out there make sure you put on a lure that dives deeper than 5 to 10 feet deep. The best bait to use is a jointed Rapala (J-7) Firetiger pattern. Drift fishing is also another good way to pull out trout, especially back by Raccoon Point and Half Moon Bay using Power Bait / Power Eggs. Only one whopper was reported during the rainy days. When trolling for trout be careful with the anglers fishing on the shoreline. Fishing has picked up on the east shore trail from Indian Cove to Raccoon Point.
BASS
Bass fishing is starting to slow down a little, but they are still biting. Bass are hitting mostly in the early mornings and evenings mostly on plastics. Most of the anglers are throwing Senkos and drop shots to get the fish to come out from their deep off shoreline structure. Several reports of bass were getting caught over by Raccoon Point and Bass Cove by using top water lures in the morning and plastic lures off the bottom in the afternoon. Livewells can be provided upon request thanks to Walton’s Pond. Please practice catch & release for bass, as they are not stocked into the lake and their population depends on you.
CATFISHCatfishing slowed down due to the cold weather. There are still plenty of catfish in the lake, but it will be a little tough to catch them until the water starts to warm up again.WHOPPERS
Darrel Roberson caught a 7.55 lb. trout at the Burner using white Power Bait Grubs.
