Board Extends Gun Club Lease 3 Months
The East Bay Regional Park District Board of Directors voted unanimously Tuesday to extend the lease of the Chabot Gun Club through March 31, 2016, in order to give the Gun Club time to compile a new long-term lease proposal.
Gun Club representatives have until Jan. 15, 2016 to submit plans, taking into consideration environmental and financial concerns in running the 50-year-old marksmanship range at Anthony Chabot Regional Park in Oakland. Park District staff will then have 2½ months to respond to the proposal.
The original lease was set to expire Dec. 31, 2015. The Gun Club requested more time to compose a proposal.
The Park District’s Oct. 8 report on the Gun Club can be found here. The noise study is here.
